Plastic
Commonly Seen Nonbiological Material: Plastic, air bubbles
What Causes Them: Plastic enters the water due to humans. It usually is in the form of trash or pieces of things, such as tarps. Air bubbles are seen when a coverslip is not on properly. Try adjusting it to get rid of them.
How You Can Help: Plastic enters waterways due to humans. You can help prevent this by making sure to properly dispose of waste, picking up litter, and choosing reusable options as often as possible. Seeing plastic in the lake isn't fun for us and it definitely isn't fun for the organisms that live in the lake.
